Thu, 02/23/2012 - 6:00am - Sun, 06/24/2012 - 9:30pm Gardner Memorial Park hosts 2 skating rinks open for the public. An ice hockey rink and a general skating rink. Free skate rentals are available. Enjoy a tasty treat from the concession stand. Also available for free rental are cross-country skis for use in the park. For ice conditions call 334-5718 or check www.newportrecreation.org. Hours are Monday through Friday from 3-9pm (closed from 5-6pm for dinner), weekends and holidays/school vacations from noon to 9pm (closed 5-6pm for dinner). Thu, 02/23/2012 - 9:30am - Sun, 02/26/2012 - 2:00pm 8th Annual Northeast Kingdom Ice Fishing Derby Feb 23-26, 2012 Register: 802-334-6115 All fish MUST be fresh & weighed in at Wright’s Sport Shop between Thursday 6 am - 8 pm. ~ Friday 5am-9pm. Saturday 5am to 5pm-Sunday 5am to 1 pm. Tournament ends at 1:00 pm. February 26th. Sunday you must be here by 1pm the gates will be closed at 1pm. Prizes will be awarded at 2:00 pm.
