Vermont Airport May Get Manufacturing Plant

NEWPORT CITY -- A composite airplanes manufacturer wants to build a 50,000-square-foot plant at the Newport State Airport in Coventry, state and local officials announced Monday.

The company would invest $20 million to $30 million to build the facility and create jobs.

And private investors want to build a multi-million-dollar new terminal building and an eight-bay hangar that could hold 16 airplanes to be leased out to airport users.
