Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center Moves Closer to Opening

NEWPORT CITY -- The Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center moved an
important step closer on Wednesday to opening in a vacant building on Main
Street in Newport City.

Gov. Peter Shumlin announced that the NEK Tasting Center would use a
$30,000 community development grant presented to Newport City for phase
two of the planning of the project, picking tenants and preparing to find an
investor to buy the former Downtown Discount building.
