Newport City's Long Bridge To Close March 5th

The Veterans Memorial Long Bridge will close on March 5 and be replaced over the next year and a half, leaving Newport City with only one access bridge to downtown.

State transportation engineers and contractors met Tuesday afternoon at the city council room with city officials and representatives with nearby businesses, utility companies and others interested in the impact of closing the bridge.
